The bimonthly journal Mechanics of Composite Materials is issued since 1965 (up to 1979 entitled as Polymer Mechanics).

For thirty five years Mechanics of Composite Materials was a major journal for composite materials publishing the latest results on composite mechanics gained by scientists from Commonwealth of Independent States (the former USSR). In view of the establishment of an International Advisory Board, Western scientists are encouraged to contribute, thus providing a unique opportunity for mutual collaboration.

Mechanics of Composite Materials encourages publication of original experimental and theoretical research on the mechanical properties and behaviour of composite materials as well as matrices and fibres. Among the areas emphasized are:

  • strength and fracture;
  • damage mechanics and fatigue;
  • numerical methods and optimal design of structures;
  • prediction of long-term properties, effect of environment, ageing;
  • nondestructive testing;
  • mechanical aspects of technology, rheology of polymer melts and biocomposites.
